Pressure Measuring Instrument Calibration Procedures
What is Instrument Calibration?
To increase accuracy, an instrument is calibrated by comparing its readings with known standard values of measures within specified conditions & modifying its settings.
Calibration includes comparing measures at many places between the instrument’s min and max range, generally in pre-defined increments, to standard values.
The target parameters measurement limits define the calibration range.
Target instrument calibration will be done contrary to a master instrument. There should be a continuous chain of comparison between the master instrument’s measurements and national (or) international standards.
The instrument calibration procedure assures predictable, accurate, and reliable measurements that meet the measuring device’s quality standards & technical requirements.
What is Pressure Calibration?
All measuring instruments utilized in important applications should be calibrated on a regular basis to ensure that they remain within the tolerances specified by the manufacturer.
Calibration is the process of comparing the pressure measurement of the device under test (DUT) to the reference standard.
Calibration procedures are specified in national & international standards for each measurement category and application.
Pressure sensors are frequently used in instruments that include indicators & controllers, and they should all be calibrated to reduce the risk of inaccurate readings.
