Smart MCC and it’s advantages:

MCCs are the motor control center for which is a floor mounted assembly for motor control. The MCC contains all the motor control units, feeders for the motors and blowers.

Smart MCC:

Smart MCCs are much smarter and like a traditional MCC, an intelligent MCC complies with the NEMA definition for an MCC in that it is composed of vertical sections that incorporate vertical and horizontal electric cables and cables and contains mainly combined motor control units.

A smart MCC incorporates intelligent devices to control motors and monitor their operation; to monitor the energy consumption, the quality of the energy and the functioning of the system; and to communicate quickly with a PLC or process control system through a data network.

While it is true that traditional MCCs often incorporate some smart devices and may include some data networks, they do so in a limited way. However, with smart MCCs, the use of smart devices and data networks is a central feature that provides a number of key advantages.

Advantages of Smart MCCs:

  • Reduced system installation and commissioning costs
  • Reduced maintenance cost
  • Reduced energy costs
  • Reduced downtime
  • Increased system efficiency
  • Increased system information
